CHAMPAGNE

There is sparkling wine and then there is champagne. Good sparkling wines from the rest of the world can stand up to many champagnes but good champagne stands above the rest.

Even within champagne, there are a range of styles from the thin, stomach-renching and over-acidic champagnes that tend to only come out of hiding at christmas-time to the most fabulous, rich, multi-layered and flavoursome styles that cost an arm and a leg to buy and, even after you have tasted it, you are still wondering if it was worth all that cash!

We would like to think that our champagne nods towards the latter style, with richness, elegance and finesse all being offered at a very reasonable price.

It has taken two years to get our hands on this wine, but we are pleased to advise you that we are at last able to offer it to you.

We have selected our champagne from a relatively small champagne house which is situated in Ambonnay, a small Grand Cru village in the heart of the Montange de Reims vineyards.

Champagne Soutiran is a premium champagne house. All of their champagnes are at least Premier Cru level, most of them being Grand Cru.

The champagne we have selected as our "house" champagne is the Cuvee Alexandre, which is a blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay from Premier Cru vineyards.

Champagne Soutiran does offer a range of Grand Cru champagnes, including the Cuvee Brut Grand Cru, the Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs, the Cuvee Rose and the Cuvee Millesime.  We will make these champagnes available, if there is sufficient demand.
